Wishing everyone a Merry X-mas!

Hey everyone!
How are you guys doing?
I’m good and I’m enjoying my holidays. Haven’t really worked on a blogpost, but I wanted to wish everyone visiting my blog a Merry X-mas!
I’ll show you my Christmas presents which I had bought for myself. First, I had ordered a pair of cute Hello Kitty indoor slippers from Avon. These are one of the newest indoor slippers from Avon and they’re very soft and comfy.

The second gift I bought is a pretty little friend from my sweet friend Andjenie. I met Andjenie a few months back, and she inspires me a lot. Although she wasn’t able to complete her study at the university, she has lots of talents which she uses to earn some extra income. Making beautiful bouquets and selling flower plants is one of the talents that she possesses. What I bought from Andjenie is a flowerplant named Phytonia in the Christmas colors red and white. My little friend had travelled all the way from campus to my home in the bus along with me. I have almost zero knowledge of flowers and I don’t really have green hands, so I had asked Andjenie lots of questions about how to take care of my Phytonia. I actually even didn’t know that this flower is called Phytonia; maybe it has some other name in English; have to search it up.

I’ve planted my Phytonia in a bigger pot and she’s swinging along with my mom’s Orchids in a tree. For now, she’s looking pretty healthy and I hope that she will bear lots of beautiful flowers. Everyday I pay her a visit to examine her and for a ‘hi’ and ‘hello’, cause it’s said that plants grow better when you talk to them.
I’m going to see if there’s anything interesting on television now. Tomorrow, I’m going to my aunt’s birthday party, so I think that I’ll have a wonderful time out there.
Enjoy your Christmas everyone!
Hugs

Nail trends I’ve tried

Hey everyone!
How have you guys been doing? I’ve missed you guys a lot! I didn’t post anything out here for some time, because I was busy working on blog posts for my blog TAKE A LOOK... ;
you can download free Quick Pages and/or participate in the giveaways if you guys are interested. It’s a bit difficult for me to do more then one post weekly. But this week I’ve been working on two posts.
I last tried two of this year’s nail trends: Laced Nails and Newspaper nails, which I’m sharing with you guys in this quick post.

Cut out a piece of lace in the shape of your nails and stick it on your topcoat.

Cut out a piece of newspaper in the shape of your nails, then apply clear nail polish and stick the piece of newspaper on your nails. Do use a good quality nail polish; the newspaper letters don’t stick well enough on nail polish that isn’t thick enough. Let the nail polish dry completely and then remove the newspaper and clean it up from your nails with water.

My favorite of these two are the Newspaper Nails. Cutting the lace in the shape of my nails is a bit difficult for me. When you try out the Newspaper Nails, you don’t have to cut the newspaper in the exact shape of your nails.
Which of the two nail trends do you guys like most?
Hugs and kisses,
Sharda

Birthday gifts from my cousin

Previous month, I had got a pink bag filled with pink goodies from one of my cousins.

A jaw clip, a ring, hair pins and…

an eye shadow palette.

This palette is from the Chinese brand Luyisi. I actually don’t buy makeup of Chinese brands in general, cause mostly you don’t know what’s in those products. American and European makeup brands go trough some procedures, even when they’re made in China, so you know that it’s safe to use. This palette has 32 pretty looking colors. Half of the eye shadow from this palette, which is a powder eye shadow, has a shimmer layer on top, like a thin cake icing. Only the black doesn’t have shimmer on top. Beneath the shimmer you’ll find eye shadow without shimmer, so you can decide the amount of shimmer you want on your eyes yourself. If you once swipe with the applicator over the powder eye shadow, you’ll find shimmer less eye shadow. To keep some shimmer for some other time, you shouldn’t swipe with the applicator over the entire eye shadow, cause there’s not much shimmer. You can also highlight only some parts of your eyes with the shimmer or you can use the inner part of the eye shadow if you don’t want any shimmer at all.  This palette smells like good old traditional eye shadow and it’s long-wearing.
It’s not that high-pigmented as I like my eye shadow to be. I was wearing this eye shadow to the celebration party of my aunt’s 50th wedding anniversary past Saturday. I had helped with preparing the meal and the decoration in the daytime and I was wearing the powder eye shadow in green.

The other half of this palette contains glitter gel eye shadow. The gel takes the color of the powder eye shadow away if you apply it over the powder eye shadow. You can see this in the picture below. I was wearing the glitter eye shadow in green together with the powder eye shadow in blue at night at the party. This was the first time I had tried the glitter eye shadow and I didn’t know that it would ‘take off’ the powder eye shadow. I was feeling a bit tired and I thought that I didn’t have much time to remove my eye shadow and apply it over again. I didn’t want my sisters and my brother waiting for me, but it appeared that I had to wait for my sister to get ready.:) So I had pushed a little bit of the green glitter to the side for some highlighting and had applied the blue powder eye shadow over the gel eye shadow, cause there wasn’t a matching dark green eye shadow in this palette; this way the color of the powder eye shadow got brighter. The glitter can be used to highlight some parts of your face and/or body.

My score for this palette is a 7 out of 10.

Wishing everyone a happy Divali in advance!!! Divali is actually my favorite Indian festival. It is believed that Goddess Luxmi (Goddess of wealth and happiness) enters your home on this special day, so Hindus clean their homes and decorate their homes and yards with lots of lighted diya’s (little plates) on Divali to welcome the goddess into their home to bring lots of happiness and wealth into their lives. I still have lots of cleaning up to do. This is a picture from previous year I had taken in our yard. Have a great week everyone!;)

A prayer for everyone that visits my blog.;)
O great teacher God!
Save us from the path of untruth and lead us to the path of truth; keep us from the darkness of ignorance and lead us to the sun of knowledge; keep us from disease and death and let us attain the elixir of beatitude.

Extra Lasting

Hey everyone!
How have you ladies been doing? I’m a bit busy, but I’m doing great. Went to my niece’s birthday party yesterday, that’s why I’m submitting my post today. My niece had turned 2 and I enjoyed the party and spending some time with the little birthday girl.;)
Today I’m placing two Extra Lasting products from Avon out here that I’ve tried out.

Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12
About this product
The Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12 is a medium-to-full coverage. The ads say that it’s always fresh and never cakey for 18 hours, it resists water and sweat, it stands up to heat and humidity, and that it feels featherlight and flexible all day. There are 18 colors available of this foundation, but the three darkest shades don’t contain SPF. There’s also a medium coverage cream-to-powder foundation SPF15 available of the Extra Lasting line.

What do I think about this product?
It doesn’t get off easily, but it does get off when I’m really sweating. So this foundation is not completely water resistant, but I feel comfortable wearing it. What I love about this foundation is that it looks natural.
My score: a 9 out of 10

I had applied the Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12 in Caramel on my hand so you can see how it looks like. I hadn’t applied the foundation above my knuckles, so you can also see the difference.

Extra Lasting Lipstick

About this product
The Extra Lasting Lipstick is available in 10 colors. The ads say, ‘up to 8 hours of creamy coverage’.

What do I think about this product?
I’ve tried the Extra Lasting Lipstick in two colors, Enduring Wine and Forever Burgundy. I have a feeling that the Enduring Wine gets off easier then the Forever Burgundy. The Enduring Wine contains a little bit of shimmer, while the Forever Burgundy doesn’t contain any shimmer. After 8 hours you’ll find a little bit of the Forever Burgundy still on my lips. A lipcolor from Avon from the past that I found very long wearing was ‘My Lip Miracle’; the color stayed on bright for hours, even after eating and drinking. Coming back at the Extra Lasting Lipstick, I love the Forever Burgundy. It feels super comfortable on my lips and I love the color. The color of the Forever Burgundy is actually darker then on the picture below; it’s probably because of the lighting. I’m giving a 9 out of 10 for the Enduring Wine and a 10 out of 10 for the Forever Burgundy!;)

Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick SPF 15 Totally Twig
Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick SPF 15 Sand Gold
Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick SPF 15 Sun Kissed Ginger
Avon Extralasting Liquid Foundation SPF 12 Medium Beige

Neoderma

I’ve tried lots and lots of cleansers and soaps of very good brands, but none of them seems to be working with my face. My face seems to be looking bad with cleansers and soaps; I get acne problems from them when I use them daily. The last thing I tried was the Neoderma line and I got the same result. I guess my face is not made for cleansers or soaps, or do you ladies have any suggestions?:) Neoderma is a line that had gained the European Union Excellence Award 2007.
Good thing that I first bought trial sizes. The liquid soap I bought, cleanses deeply and it has a nice soft smell; kind of smells like baby oil. I’m using this line once a week now; it doesn’t seem to give me much of a problem this way.

The men also come into one’s own with Neoderma.

There’s also makeup available of this brand. This is a picture I had taken of some makeup try-outs, but I haven’t tried them out. I did apply a little bit of one of the eye shadows on my hand; it actually didn’t seem like a longwearing eye shadow; I like long-wearing eye shadows.

I actually have too many eye shadows now; I won’t be buying any for a very very long time. I last had ordered an eye shadow palette from Mark. and a few days later I got a palette from one of my cousin’s as a birthday gift.:)

About a year ago, one of my cousins had tried the professional Bio-Peeling Treatment of Neoderma; her face looked beautifully transformed. Her face looked smooth and scar-less and her pores seemed dramatically minimized. This treatment is based on a combination of alga, natural ingredients, and essential oils and it’s beneficial for the blood circulation and the restructure of cells.

Today, I’m giving a blog award to some bloggers, which I had received from Ingie (Hajar). Thanks again for this wonderful award Ingie! Do visit her blog - Unique Moroccan Girl

This blog award goes to the following 15 blogs:
The Sweetest Escape
My Styleadvisor
Różnotematycznie

The rules are:
ü  Give this award to the person from whom you’ve received it and link them
ü  Write 7 things about yourself
ü  Give the award to 15 other blogs and inform them

I have to write 7 things about myself, so here I go:
1.      I hope that I can be done with my thesis very soon and that I’ll find a very good job after that.
2.      I’m saving up for a Canon EOS Rebel T3i camera, so I don’t have to borrow dad’s camera.
3.      I want to give some more attention to my drawing skills after my thesis.
4.      I was taking swimming lessons, but I had stopped, because I was paying more than 5x what swimming lessons usually cost out here, but I want to pick up where I had left, cause I’ll definitely drown in deep water.
5.      I’m the only one at home without a driver’s license, so I definitely want to have my license soon.
6.      I love being together with family and friends.
7.       I love reading inspiring books and blogs.

Ciaooo for now everyone; wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

Mosaic Effects

I recently tried Avon’s crackle nail polish. You apply one coat of the Mosaic Effects top coat on completely dry nail enamel and watch it break into a nice design; kind of looks like a leopard design. You have to apply the Mosaic Effects top coat fast, cause it dries quickly. It’s longwearing; stays on my nails for about a week. I had asked my cousin how the crackle nail polish looks on my nails and he said that it looks cool. It will be nice if they’ll have some more colors of this crackle nail polish in the future. I’m giving it a 7.5 out of 10.
This is how it looks on top of my nail enamel in Vivid Violet; I’ve used Avon’s Nail Experts UV Gloss Guard Top Coat on top.

My younger sister has a nice collection of rings, so I also took some pictures of some of her rings. I actually don’t wear that many rings at once; mostly only one or two rings.

I have lots of forms to fill in, which I want to submit by Monday. Hundreds of students along with me have crossed their study period, so the university had hired a consultancy bureau to teach us some leadership and management skills so we can be done with our study within the dispensation period. The forms take days to fill in, so I’ve put my thesis on hold for a few days, so I can resume with it without any obstacles. You ladies enjoy your week!

Beautiful hair of 2011

Hey beauties!
How was your week?
My week went well; busy working on my thesis and it feels good to see that I’m making progress. I love blogging, so this is also my feel-good factor.;) Someone whom I met this week after a long time, made a remark that I look more cheerful. I look at things in a positive way and I don’t have a problem with facing problems, that’s probably why I experience life in a cheerful way.;)
Today I’m blogging about my newest hair products.

 Damage Repair 3D Rescue Leave-In-Treatment
About this product
The Damage Repair 3D Rescue Leave-In Treatment with fortifying nutrients is designed for dry or damaged hair.

The brochure ads
3 years of hair damage repaired in 3 days. Our leave-in treatment targets and repairs damage on every dimension – the surface, core and ends. 3D Rescue targets hair’s most damaged areas, strengthening hair’s internal, mending split ends and nourishing hair from within.
Instantly repairs 3 types of damage
      1.      CHEMICAL (color treatments, perms)
      2.      THERMAL (blow dryers, curling irons)
                    3.      MECHANICAL (combing and brushing)

What do I think about this product?
This Avon product is great; it’s the best leave-in treatment I’ve tried. It smoothens my hair and my hair stays frizz-free; it smells nice as well. I don’t really have damaged hair, but I had a few split ends. After having used it thrice, I didn’t see any split ends anymore. I had switched over from my Garnier® Fructis® Fortifying shampoo to my Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner after having tried this leave-in treatment once. I was afraid of trying the Shampoo and Conditioner of the Advance Techniques line, cause years back I had tried a shampoo of this line and my hair started falling off. Maybe they’ve improved the shampoos by now; the Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner works very good on my hair. Vitamins and nourishing moisture polymers help to strengthen and protect hair while reducing flyaways. It’s safe for color-treated hair and suitable for all hair types. This shampoo and conditioner makes my hair softer and I love the silky feel after having washed my hair, though I wouldn’t say that this is the best shampoo and conditioner I’ve tried. My hair is very long at the moment and I have thick hair, so I easily get frizzles. My hair stays manageable and frizz-free for one whole day with the Damage Repair 3D rescue when used together with the Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. When used with my Garnier® Fructis® Fortifying shampoo, my hair stays manageable and frizz-free for two whole days. So the Damage Repair 3D rescue works better with Fructis® shampoo in my opinion. When you’ll order the Damage Repair 3D rescue from your representative you’ll get a free ‘Shimmering Compact Travel Brush’, which is decorated with rhinestones, but it’s of very poor quality. It broke the first time I had used it, but I managed to put the parts together; maybe I can still use it for a few times. The Damage Repair 3D rescue is much cheaper at Amazon, but you won’t get the free plastic travel brush together with it.

My score: a 10 out of 10!

Fergie is promoting the Damage Repair 3D rescue. The ‘Outspoken by Fergie Eau de Parfum Spray’ was Avon’s best-selling fragrance launch ever. Have you ladies tried the new perfume that Fergie is promoting? The ‘Outspoken Intense by Fergie Eau de Parfum Spray’ smells great. It’s a bold floral fruity fragrance.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Sending you lots of love,
Sharda

Wooden beads set

White is a color you can do beautiful things with. I had made a jewelry set with white and honey-colored beads which I’m sharing with you today. I haven’t done any jewelry making courses or studied books of jewelry making, but I think it’s easy to create your own jewelries without much jewelry making knowledge.;)

This Fancy Sparkling Cuff Watch in white from Avon is matching perfectly together with the set. It has an enamel-look and rhinestone accents on bezel; the ads say that it’s a sparkling circle of unity and perfection. I think it’s a nice everyday watch.
Make the best of your day everyone; time doesn’t stand still.;) The realization that I’m getting a bit older each day and that I’ll probably not be able to do as much in the future as I am capable of doing now, is what pushes me forward to be more productive each day.
Hugs and kisses,
Sharda
