I’ve been thinking of placing a headline banner on my blog for a long time, but because of the daily rush, I didn’t get the chance to create one. Now I can create a banner in a fast and easy way with this software. I’m happy with my gift and excited, cause this is my first giveaway.;)
My Memories Suite Version 2 is Amazon’s #1 rated digital scrapbooking software. You can share your My Memories Suite software through print sharing as well as through multimedia sharing. It’s a great help in creating professional looking cover pages of essays, digital baby books, calendars, cards, etc.  It has some cool features; like you can let the text follow a shape or you can add video and/or sound along with your photo at one page. I haven’t tried out the video and sound feature yet, but I’ll try to post a scrapbook page with video and/or sound out here on my blog sometime. To know more about this software, check out the YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/user/MyMemoriesSuite.
I had installed this software yesterday on my laptop and had created these scrapbook pages using my younger sister’s pictures first. I’ve replaced those pictures with some view pictures I had taken of the city of Paramaribo and with pictures of two of my favorite Bollywood actresses.:) You can create a digital scrapbook page and use it as many times as you like; the pictures can be changed within seconds.;) I’ve used digital freebies from online as well to create my scrapbook pages.

Birthday gifts from my cousin

Previous month, I had got a pink bag filled with pink goodies from one of my cousins.

A jaw clip, a ring, hair pins and…

an eye shadow palette.

This palette is from the Chinese brand Luyisi. I actually don’t buy makeup of Chinese brands in general, cause mostly you don’t know what’s in those products. American and European makeup brands go trough some procedures, even when they’re made in China, so you know that it’s safe to use. This palette has 32 pretty looking colors. Half of the eye shadow from this palette, which is a powder eye shadow, has a shimmer layer on top, like a thin cake icing. Only the black doesn’t have shimmer on top. Beneath the shimmer you’ll find eye shadow without shimmer, so you can decide the amount of shimmer you want on your eyes yourself. If you once swipe with the applicator over the powder eye shadow, you’ll find shimmer less eye shadow. To keep some shimmer for some other time, you shouldn’t swipe with the applicator over the entire eye shadow, cause there’s not much shimmer. You can also highlight only some parts of your eyes with the shimmer or you can use the inner part of the eye shadow if you don’t want any shimmer at all.  This palette smells like good old traditional eye shadow and it’s long-wearing.
It’s not that high-pigmented as I like my eye shadow to be. I was wearing this eye shadow to the celebration party of my aunt’s 50th wedding anniversary past Saturday. I had helped with preparing the meal and the decoration in the daytime and I was wearing the powder eye shadow in green.

The other half of this palette contains glitter gel eye shadow. The gel takes the color of the powder eye shadow away if you apply it over the powder eye shadow. You can see this in the picture below. I was wearing the glitter eye shadow in green together with the powder eye shadow in blue at night at the party. This was the first time I had tried the glitter eye shadow and I didn’t know that it would ‘take off’ the powder eye shadow. I was feeling a bit tired and I thought that I didn’t have much time to remove my eye shadow and apply it over again. I didn’t want my sisters and my brother waiting for me, but it appeared that I had to wait for my sister to get ready.:) So I had pushed a little bit of the green glitter to the side for some highlighting and had applied the blue powder eye shadow over the gel eye shadow, cause there wasn’t a matching dark green eye shadow in this palette; this way the color of the powder eye shadow got brighter. The glitter can be used to highlight some parts of your face and/or body.

My score for this palette is a 7 out of 10.

Wishing everyone a happy Divali in advance!!! Divali is actually my favorite Indian festival. It is believed that Goddess Luxmi (Goddess of wealth and happiness) enters your home on this special day, so Hindus clean their homes and decorate their homes and yards with lots of lighted diya’s (little plates) on Divali to welcome the goddess into their home to bring lots of happiness and wealth into their lives. I still have lots of cleaning up to do. This is a picture from previous year I had taken in our yard. Have a great week everyone!;)

A prayer for everyone that visits my blog.;)
O great teacher God!
Save us from the path of untruth and lead us to the path of truth; keep us from the darkness of ignorance and lead us to the sun of knowledge; keep us from disease and death and let us attain the elixir of beatitude.

Extra Lasting

Hey everyone!
How have you ladies been doing? I’m a bit busy, but I’m doing great. Went to my niece’s birthday party yesterday, that’s why I’m submitting my post today. My niece had turned 2 and I enjoyed the party and spending some time with the little birthday girl.;)
Today I’m placing two Extra Lasting products from Avon out here that I’ve tried out.

Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12
About this product
The Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12 is a medium-to-full coverage. The ads say that it’s always fresh and never cakey for 18 hours, it resists water and sweat, it stands up to heat and humidity, and that it feels featherlight and flexible all day. There are 18 colors available of this foundation, but the three darkest shades don’t contain SPF. There’s also a medium coverage cream-to-powder foundation SPF15 available of the Extra Lasting line.

What do I think about this product?
It doesn’t get off easily, but it does get off when I’m really sweating. So this foundation is not completely water resistant, but I feel comfortable wearing it. What I love about this foundation is that it looks natural.
My score: a 9 out of 10

I had applied the Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation SPF12 in Caramel on my hand so you can see how it looks like. I hadn’t applied the foundation above my knuckles, so you can also see the difference.

Extra Lasting Lipstick

About this product
The Extra Lasting Lipstick is available in 10 colors. The ads say, ‘up to 8 hours of creamy coverage’.

What do I think about this product?
I’ve tried the Extra Lasting Lipstick in two colors, Enduring Wine and Forever Burgundy. I have a feeling that the Enduring Wine gets off easier then the Forever Burgundy. The Enduring Wine contains a little bit of shimmer, while the Forever Burgundy doesn’t contain any shimmer. After 8 hours you’ll find a little bit of the Forever Burgundy still on my lips. A lipcolor from Avon from the past that I found very long wearing was ‘My Lip Miracle’; the color stayed on bright for hours, even after eating and drinking. Coming back at the Extra Lasting Lipstick, I love the Forever Burgundy. It feels super comfortable on my lips and I love the color. The color of the Forever Burgundy is actually darker then on the picture below; it’s probably because of the lighting. I’m giving a 9 out of 10 for the Enduring Wine and a 10 out of 10 for the Forever Burgundy!;)

Neoderma

I’ve tried lots and lots of cleansers and soaps of very good brands, but none of them seems to be working with my face. My face seems to be looking bad with cleansers and soaps; I get acne problems from them when I use them daily. The last thing I tried was the Neoderma line and I got the same result. I guess my face is not made for cleansers or soaps, or do you ladies have any suggestions?:) Neoderma is a line that had gained the European Union Excellence Award 2007.
Good thing that I first bought trial sizes. The liquid soap I bought, cleanses deeply and it has a nice soft smell; kind of smells like baby oil. I’m using this line once a week now; it doesn’t seem to give me much of a problem this way.

The men also come into one’s own with Neoderma.

There’s also makeup available of this brand. This is a picture I had taken of some makeup try-outs, but I haven’t tried them out. I did apply a little bit of one of the eye shadows on my hand; it actually didn’t seem like a longwearing eye shadow; I like long-wearing eye shadows.

I actually have too many eye shadows now; I won’t be buying any for a very very long time. I last had ordered an eye shadow palette from Mark. and a few days later I got a palette from one of my cousin’s as a birthday gift.:)

About a year ago, one of my cousins had tried the professional Bio-Peeling Treatment of Neoderma; her face looked beautifully transformed. Her face looked smooth and scar-less and her pores seemed dramatically minimized. This treatment is based on a combination of alga, natural ingredients, and essential oils and it’s beneficial for the blood circulation and the restructure of cells.

Today, I’m giving a blog award to some bloggers, which I had received from Ingie (Hajar). Thanks again for this wonderful award Ingie! Do visit her blog - Unique Moroccan Girl

This blog award goes to the following 15 blogs:
The Sweetest Escape
My Styleadvisor
Różnotematycznie

The rules are:
ü  Give this award to the person from whom you’ve received it and link them
ü  Write 7 things about yourself
ü  Give the award to 15 other blogs and inform them

I have to write 7 things about myself, so here I go:
1.      I hope that I can be done with my thesis very soon and that I’ll find a very good job after that.
2.      I’m saving up for a Canon EOS Rebel T3i camera, so I don’t have to borrow dad’s camera.
3.      I want to give some more attention to my drawing skills after my thesis.
4.      I was taking swimming lessons, but I had stopped, because I was paying more than 5x what swimming lessons usually cost out here, but I want to pick up where I had left, cause I’ll definitely drown in deep water.
5.      I’m the only one at home without a driver’s license, so I definitely want to have my license soon.
6.      I love being together with family and friends.
7.       I love reading inspiring books and blogs.

Ciaooo for now everyone; wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
Sharda
