Birthday gifts from my cousin
Previous month, I had got a pink bag filled with pink goodies from one of my cousins.
A jaw clip, a ring, hair pins and…
an eye shadow palette.
This palette is from the Chinese brand Luyisi. I actually don’t buy makeup of Chinese brands in general, cause mostly you don’t know what’s in those products. American and European makeup brands go trough some procedures, even when they’re made in China, so you know that it’s safe to use. This palette has 32 pretty looking colors. Half of the eye shadow from this palette, which is a powder eye shadow, has a shimmer layer on top, like a thin cake icing. Only the black doesn’t have shimmer on top. Beneath the shimmer you’ll find eye shadow without shimmer, so you can decide the amount of shimmer you want on your eyes yourself. If you once swipe with the applicator over the powder eye shadow, you’ll find shimmer less eye shadow. To keep some shimmer for some other time, you shouldn’t swipe with the applicator over the entire eye shadow, cause there’s not much shimmer. You can also highlight only some parts of your eyes with the shimmer or you can use the inner part of the eye shadow if you don’t want any shimmer at all. This palette smells like good old traditional eye shadow and it’s long-wearing.
It’s not that high-pigmented as I like my eye shadow to be. I was wearing this eye shadow to the celebration party of my aunt’s 50th wedding anniversary past Saturday. I had helped with preparing the meal and the decoration in the daytime and I was wearing the powder eye shadow in green.
The other half of this palette contains glitter gel eye shadow. The gel takes the color of the powder eye shadow away if you apply it over the powder eye shadow. You can see this in the picture below. I was wearing the glitter eye shadow in green together with the powder eye shadow in blue at night at the party. This was the first time I had tried the glitter eye shadow and I didn’t know that it would ‘take off’ the powder eye shadow. I was feeling a bit tired and I thought that I didn’t have much time to remove my eye shadow and apply it over again. I didn’t want my sisters and my brother waiting for me, but it appeared that I had to wait for my sister to get ready.:) So I had pushed a little bit of the green glitter to the side for some highlighting and had applied the blue powder eye shadow over the gel eye shadow, cause there wasn’t a matching dark green eye shadow in this palette; this way the color of the powder eye shadow got brighter. The glitter can be used to highlight some parts of your face and/or body.

Wishing everyone a happy Divali in advance!!! Divali is actually my favorite Indian festival. It is believed that Goddess Luxmi (Goddess of wealth and happiness) enters your home on this special day, so Hindus clean their homes and decorate their homes and yards with lots of lighted diya’s (little plates) on Divali to welcome the goddess into their home to bring lots of happiness and wealth into their lives. I still have lots of cleaning up to do. This is a picture from previous year I had taken in our yard. Have a great week everyone!;)
A prayer for everyone that visits my blog.;)
O great teacher God!
Save us from the path of untruth and lead us to the path of truth; keep us from the darkness of ignorance and lead us to the sun of knowledge; keep us from disease and death and let us attain the elixir of beatitude.

Other looks with True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Caribbean Sunset
A lot of my blog visitors seemed to like the way I had applied my True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Caribbean Sunset, that’s why I’m placing some more eye shadow looks out here this time. The colors of the Caribbean Sunset Quad are: dusty brown, radiant orange, deep turquoise and vivid bronze. The back of the box of this quad actually indicates how you should apply this eye shadow quad. There’s a picture of a model wearing this look in the brochure, but I don’t like this look, so I create ‘my own’ looks. If you want to create the look that the model is wearing in the brochure, this is how you should apply this quad. The model is actually wearing the ‘Vibrant Spice Quad’.
I was wearing my True Color Eyeshadow Quad to the cinema past Thursday night. I went to the cinema together with my brothers and sister to watch the 3D movie ‘Captain America’. Have you guys seen this movie? I wouldn’t say that it’s a great movie, but I liked it. I had created the look below with three colors; instead of the radiant orange I had used my Glimmersticks Diamonds Eyeline in Twilight Sparkle, about which I had talked about in one of my previous posts. I had applied this eyeliner on my inner lash line and along my upper lash line. 4 new beautiful metallic shades of this eye liner will be available soon.
I had also created another look past Saturday with my True Color Eyeshadow Quad, which I’m sharing with you guys. I was wearing it to a wedding party in my neighborhood in the daytime. For this look I had only used one color: the vibrant orange. It’s very simple to create this look; you just apply a sheer coverage of your eye shadow all over your eye lids and then draw a bold vibrant line along your upper lash line with your eye shadow. I was actually inspired by the looks of the girls from the TV serial ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’. They were using a glossy eye shadow; this look actually looks prettier with a glossy eye shadow. I had also used a black kohl eyeliner for my inner lash line, but without the kohl eyeliner my eyes also looked pretty.
All the girls from The Secret Life of The American Teenager are looking gorgeous, but my personal favorite is Amy (Shailene Woodley). I’ve browsed some pictures from the internet of Shailene Woodley for you guys.
I have some more beautiful eye shadow ideas; maybe I’ll place those looks some other time out here. I also have news about one of the products I had blogged about; the ‘Hervé Léger Femme Eau de Parfum Spray’ is a 2011 winner. This perfume has been chosen as ‘Fragrance of The Year’ by The Fragrance Foundation. I think that I’ll continue blogging about jewelries for next time. Sometimes I don’t have any idea what I’m going to blog about for next time, but there’s always some idea that suddenly flashes into my mind, and sometimes there are so many ideas flowing into my brains as if some tap of my brains has been opened and they all rush out in a speed.:)

About this product
The two new True Color Eyeshadow Quads by celebrity makeup artist Paul Innis are a mixture of strong neutrals and intense accents. The new high-impact quads are available in Caribbean Sunset and Vibrant Spice. There are also 10 older quad combinations available in the brochures.
The brochure ads
Fade-proof, crease-proof color wears up to 12 hours. Shade, contour and highlight with True Color Eyeshadow Quad for eyes that mesmerize.
What do I think about this product?
The colors of the True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Caribbean Sunset look like beautiful bright colored sparkling satin; the colors actually look prettier than on the pictures of this quad. The mesmerizing colors feel like a cream-to-powder eye shadow when applying it. I couldn’t seem to find my eye shadow brush; I’ll probably have to order a new one. I had used my new paint brushes and the included applicator to apply my eye shadow. The included applicator is very handy; it helped me in applying the eye shadow in a precise way. I was wearing this eye shadow quad on a party past Sunday. When I looked in the mirror to remove my makeup after 7 hours, my eye shadow still looked as if it was freshly applied; so ya, I do believe that it wears up to 12 hours. You should definitely get at least one of the two new eye shadow quads. Too bad that they don’t have the new quads at Amazon yet, but I’ll inform you guys if they’ll have it soon. It’s the best eye shadow I own!
My score: a 10 on 10!
SuperShock Max Mascara
About this product
SuperShock Max Mascara is Avon’s biggest and boldest mascara ever. The mascara is available in black and brown black.
The brochure ads
Helix brush layers your lashes to their very tips. Up to 15x the volume. High-gloss lushness with one swipe. Super brush delivers maximum fullness. Take lashes to the max!
What do I think about this product?
To complete my Caribbean Sunset look, I had used my SuperShock Max Mascara in black.
The SuperShock Max Mascara is actually the biggest and boldest mascara I’ve ever seen. I was actually thinking if it would be easy to apply mascara with a big brush, but I found out that it is easy to apply mascara with this super brush. The mascara doesn’t look and feel glossy, but I love the volume, and my lashes also look longer. I had counted 15 of my hair and had held them together to see how 15x the volume of one hair would look like. I think that I had created about 7x the volume of my lashes with about 3 coats.
My score: a 9.5 out of 10
(My ‘Funky Bean’ on my eye shadow quad and my ‘Love Sick Monskey’ on and next to my mascara are not included.)
