Hi everyone!
How are you doing?
I’m doing great and at the moment I’m in India!
I’m doing great and at the moment I’m in India!
India is totally different from what I had thought that it
would be like. I had traveled to India via Holland from my country Suriname, so
I also saw a little bit of the Netherlands.
The trip was exhausting, cause I hadn’t slept well in the
planes and my ears were pretty much hurting 10 minutes before landing. When I
got out of the airport, I was like wow, this city looks more modern then
Holland, that’s something I hadn’t expected. It took me a few hours before I
could hear normally.

I’ve visited different cities in India and they are all
different from each other. I’ll start with Chandigarh. Chandigarh is said to be
the cleanest city of India and the city plan was designed by the French
architect Le Corbusier.
Street in Chandigarh
The thing that struck me at first was that there were lots
of cyclists; in my country you’ll find more cars than cycles. You’ll also find
lots of scooters in Chandigarh.
Scooters and scooters
Chandigarh is the greenest city of India. Flowers grow
pretty well compared to my country. Chandigarh is divided in 65 sectors. The
sectors are separated by beautiful round parks, which is taken care of daily. I
have taken lots of pictures of the parks out here. Below is a picture of a park
that divides 4 different sectors.
This is one park, but the pictures are taken
from different sides.
One of the flower places I’m in love with is Rose Garden.
It’s a big park of 27 acres with lots of different roses in lots of different
colors.
At first I had to get used to the food out here; but now I’m
starting to like Indian food.
This is a picture taken in one of the bakeries in
Chandigarh. I’m definitely going to try some of these very soon; they look yum.
I’ve
made lots of friends out here from all over the world; it’s definitely a very
great experience.
That was it for today’s post about India. Will be back soon
with more about Chandigarh!
Hugs
Sharda
